Handmade lingerie products often require extra care due to their delicate nature and unique construction. Here are some hand wash care instructions specifically for our handmade lingerie:
1. Fill a Clean Sink or Basin: Start by filling a sink or basin with lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water, as it can damage sensitive fabrics.
2. Choose a Gentle Detergent: Select a mild lingerie detergent or a gentle soap specifically formulated for delicate fabrics. Avoid using harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, as they can cause damage or discoloration.
3. Submerge the Lingerie: Gently place the handmade lingerie item into the water and lightly agitate it with your hands. Allow the item to soak for a few minutes.
4. Spot Clean if Necessary: Pay special attention to any stained or soiled areas. Use a soft cloth or your fingertips to gently rub the fabric in those areas. Avoid scrubbing vigorously, as it may damage delicate materials.
5. Rinse Thoroughly: Empty the sink or basin and refill it with clean lukewarm water. Rinse the lingerie item by gently swirling it in the water until all the soap is removed. Repeat this step if necessary.
6. Remove Excess Water: Carefully lift the lingerie out of the water, supporting it with your hands to avoid stretching or tearing. Gently squeeze the garment to remove excess water, but avoid wringing or twisting it, as it may damage the delicate fibers.
7. Lay Flat to Dry: Lay a clean, dry towel on a flat surface and place the lingerie item on top of it. Gently roll up the towel with the lingerie inside to absorb additional moisture. Then, carefully unroll the towel and transfer the lingerie to a fresh, dry towel or a drying rack. Shape the lingerie back to its original form and allow it to air dry completely. Avoid hanging handmade lingerie, as it may stretch the fabric or cause distortion.
8. Avoid Direct Sunlight: Place the lingerie in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Sunlight can fade colors and weaken delicate fabrics over time.
9. Handle with Care: When handling the lingerie, be gentle to prevent snagging or tearing. Avoid contact with sharp objects or rough surfaces.
10. Store Properly: Once the lingerie is completely dry, store it in a clean, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Consider folding it neatly and placing it in a lingerie storage box or drawer to protect it from dust and potential damage.
